About

 What you need to know.

Reeflex is a bodyboarding company that came about by bodyboarders having only a limited range of wetsuits to choose from at their dedicated bodyboard store. We are all sick of feeling dirty in that big name surf brand wetsuit that does not put back into our sport by supporting YOU!!. Now you can relax as there is plenty of rubber heading towards the racks.

On reflection this could only succeed if it was inspired by, owned and operated by  bodyboarders who have the desire to see our sport grow in the future by companies owned and operated by bodyboarders that support our sport.

 What’s with the name Reeflex?
I bet you are curious as to why we are called Reeflex. It started out like this.
Have you ever noticed your own reflection on the waves whilst on your way to hitting that lip?
How many times have you paddled back out to the line up after scoring a cracker and reflected upon it with your mates? What do bodyboarders prefer in a break – Reefs?
What do bodyboarders require in a wetsuit – Flexibility?
What skills are required to be a good bodyboarder – Quick Reflexes?
Now that you know how the name came about, you are still wondering about our logo aren’t you.
It is quite simple really, so we will let you figure it out.

At Reeflex our support will start at grass roots level and finish with our sports most recognized professionals. Our team currently consists of Dave Winchester, Chad Jackson & Alex Halsey. A team with a range of broad talents on the boogs that is second to none.
Look out for our Solar Series range of wetsuits from planets Mercury, Jupiter and Neptune on the racks in autumn 2009.

The person behind Reeflex.

My name is John Barker and I am the bloke behind Reeflex.
I have been bodyboarding for around 18 years now. I am like a good sunscreen… 30 plus. I compete at State and National level and give it a go in a pro comp or two. I even competed in the 2009 Turbo Pipeline Pro for the first time, with my first wave at Pipeline being the first wave of my heat. I really think competition bodyboarding is healthy for your improvement towards a better all-round ability.
I live in Mandurah, Western Australia where I am also president of the Mandurah Bodyboard Club. I have been the State Team Manager for WA for the last few years now which is a great responsibility as I get to see all the fresh faces coming in to the bodyboarding community at a state and national level.
Most bodyboarders do not realize the damage they are doing by supporting big name surf brands that do not put back into our sport or just sponsor a few riders and think that is good enough. If you only support bodyboarder owned companies you will benefit in the near future and so will our aspiring pros that need our coin to express their talents. Here at Reeflex our sponsorship will begin at grassroots and finish with riders chasing a world title.

So the next time you see me out in the water or checking the line-up, don’t hesitate to say G’day and we can have a chat.

See you out there!
